Bashkir ballet master Leonora Kuvatova is jury member of 15th Ekaterina Maksimova’s Arabesque Ballet Contest

The People's Artist of Russia and Bashkortostan, the chief ballet master of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater Leonora Kuvatova became a member of the jury of the 15th-anniversary contest of ballet artists "Arabesque" named after Ekaterina Maximova.

The art director of the choreographic studio Rudy Dance Lab - resident-choreographer "London Russian Ballet School" Dmitry Antipov (London) is invited to the competition as a choreographer-director. The premiere of the one-act mini-ballet The Fatal Sonata based on the novel by L. N. Tolstoy "Kreutzer Sonata" is taking place today at the opening of the contest.

The contest is held in Perm from April 11 to 21. The art director and chairman of the jury is Vladimir Vasilyev. Every two years, "Arabesque" gathers young dancers from different countries, representing different choreographic schools and the most modern trends in ballet. This year's competition is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Marius Petipa.
