Bashkortostan volunteers participate in European "Wiki-Spring 2018"

Traditionally, on March 21, the international Wikimedia CEE Spring 2018 marathon was launched for the fourth time - a joint project of Wikipedians of Central and Eastern Europe on creating Wikipedia articles about these countries. Volunteers from the Bashkir section of the popular Internet encyclopedia also participate in the event. The marathon will end on May 31.

"We have been participating in this creative marathon for the third year, which is an excellent platform for distributing information about Bashkortostan to Wikipedia readers in the languages of European peoples. In the previous two marathons, 638 articles about our republic were created by volunteers of 26 language sections, of which the largest number was taken by the articles "Salavat Yulaev" – 20 languages, "Zemfira" - 19, "Ural Batyr" - nine, "Bashkir Horse" in seven languages. We hope that this year the number of articles created within the framework of the marathon will cross the thousandth boundary.

Volunteers from the Bashkir section wrote 718 articles about European countries for two years. There is likelihood that in this marathon, too, we will reach the level of more than a thousand articles", explained the administrator of the Bashkir section of Wikipedia Rustam Nuryev.

Bashkir volunteers also conduct the fourth stage of the international marathon "Bashkortostan 100", which started on February 21 and will continue until May 31.
