Director Aleksey Herman, Jr. told Ufa cinema fans about his film "Dovlatov"

Yesterday in Ufa, at the "Rodina" cinema, a screening of the "Dovlatov" film was held dedicated to the outstanding Russian writer Sergei Dovlatov. Ufa cinema fans, journalists and bloggers gathered for the session. A Skype connection was established with director Alexei German Jr. after the film. The creator of the film answered the questions of the Ufa viewers.

He said that the script was written together with Julia Tupikina, there were about eight scenarios. The search for an actor for the main role lasted long. They watched applicants from different countries. As a result, the role of the writer was played by the Serbian actor Milan Maric.

Sergei Dovlatov (1941-1990) was born in Ufa. The writer and journalist, he made a significant contribution to the world literature. In the Soviet Union his books were not published, in 1978 he emigrated and settled in New York. The "Dovlatov" film participated in the main competition of the 68th Berlin Film Festival in 2018. The world premiere took place on February 17, 2018, the film was released in Russia on March 1, 2018.
