Winners of first Nesterov Prize are announced in Bashkortostan
UFA, 23 January 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/. The Head of Bashkortostan, Rustem Khamitov, signed a decree on awarding the Mikhail Nesterov State Prize in the field of fine arts and art history.
Firdant Nuryakhmetov, Honored Artist of Bashkortostan, Nikolai Kalinushkin (posthumously), Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and Bashkortostan and Vladimir Lobanov, Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Associate Professor of the Z. Ismagilov Ufa State Institute of Arts, were awarded the Prize for the creation of the monumehnt to Mikhail Vasilyevich Nesterov.
The Nesterov State Prize of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the field of fine arts and art history is established by the Decree of the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov. It is awarded every two years for the creation of outstanding works of fine art, as well as studies in the field of art theory and history, art criticism. It amounts to 500 000 rubles.
In 2017, about 150 works were submitted for the award. The qualifying stage was successfully passed by 57 works of graphics, painting, decorative and applied art, sculpture and literature by 29 famous artists and four leading art critics of the republic. These works were presented at the Republican thematic exhibition-contest of nominees for the Nesterov Prize "Traditions and Spirituality", which was held in the M.V. Nesterov Bashkir State Art Museum in December.
