Exhibition of New Year's Soviet era toys opens in Ufa

UFA, 25 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. The National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan opens the "Happy New Year!" exhibition, introducing visitors to the world of New Year's toys of the Soviet era.
The exhibition will feature a variety of New Year's toys (fairy-tale characters, animals, balls, lanterns, icicles, berries, fruit, etc.) made of glass, cotton wool and cardboard, New Year's masks, flags, tinsel, garlands, Grand Farther Frost figurines. The highlight of the exhibition will be a collection of Christmas and New Year's cards, dating back to the beginning of the twentieth century. They are provided by the Ufa collector Vladimir Buravtsov.
The collection of New Year's toys includes more than 300 items showing the history of New Year's decorations from the 30-s to 80-s of the twentieth century.
"The "Happy New Year!" exhibition will give an opportunity to find yourself in the past and plunge into memories of the most beloved holiday of the country, to feel again the magic of the New Year holiday", the organizers of the project noted.
