Dmitry Peskov called "Nureyev" premiere event of global scale

UFA, 11 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. On Saturday, December 9, a premiere of the "Nureyev" ballet staged by Kirill Serebrennikov was held on the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. According to the TASS, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov visited the premiere. He did not consider it as provocative, having called it an event of the global scale.

The publication reports that the premiere of the ballet was to take place on the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theater on July 11, but the theater management decided to postpone it as it was not ready to run. The second premiere was on December 10th. Tickets for the performances were sold out long before the premiere dates. The next block of performances will be held in May 2018.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, children's years and the youth of the outstanding dancer of the 20th century Rudolf Nureyev took place in the capital of Bashkortostan. In Ufa his name is perpetuated in the name of the Bashkir Choreography College located in the building of his former school. Also his name is given to a ballet festival opened in Ufa 24 years ago. In 1993, on the day of his birth, on March 17, a memorial plaque was erected on the building of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater. By tradition, each festival begins with laying of flowers to the bas-relief of Nureyev on the building of the theater.
