On Republic Day flowers were laid to Salavat Yulaev Monument in capital of Bashkortostan

UFA, 12 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. In the capital of Bashkortostan flowers were laid to the Monument of Salavat Yulaev on the Republic Day. The ceremony was attended by the head of the Kirov district of Ufa Dinar Khalilov, representatives of the Executive Committee of the World Kurultay of Bashkirs, writers, public figures. The event began with a sound of the national Bashkir instrument - kurai.

"Every year we discover more and more of Salavat Yulaev, we are proud of him, we study his heritage, the history of his life, we find new interesting details. On this festive day, we gathered for a traditional event to pay tribute to our national hero", said the chairman of the Kurultai executive committee Amir Ishemgulov.

There were poems dedicated to Salavat Yulaev. Poetess Larisa Abdullina and a descendant of the national hero told about their recent trip to Paldiski (Rogervik fortress) in Estonia - the place of the last refuge of Salavat in penal servitude.

The journalist, historian Azat Yarmullin reminded the audience that in a month, on November 17, the Monument to Salavat Yulaev, created by the outstanding sculptor Soslanbek Tavasiev, would celebrate the half-century anniversary.
