National Geographic photographer Robbie Shone appreciated Shulgan-Tash Cave good condition

UFA, 3 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. The stay of the National Geographic official photographer Robbie Shone in Russia has come to the end. The photographer managed to visit well-known archeological monuments - Ignatievskaya Cave (Chelyabinsk region), Shulgan-Tash and Idrisovskaya Caves (Salavat district of the Republic of Bashkortostan).
Photographs taken by Robbie Shone in the Urals will only be available for viewing only after their publication in the National Geographic editions.
In an interview with the staff of the Research Centre for Protection and Use of Immovable Cultural Heritage Sites RB, Robbie Shone highly appreciated a project for construction of the Shulgan-Tash historical and cultural museum complex and expressed his confidence that with this project the Shulgan-Tash Cave, having a huge potential, would reach one level with the best museums of caves around the world.
The photographer stressed that Shulgan-Tash Cave, in contrast to Ignatyevskaya and Idrisovskaya, was in good condition. Especially he marked the lack of graffiti on the walls and beautiful preservation of the Paleolithic drawings.
The employee of the Innsbruck University of Austria Yu.V. Dublyansky noted the exceptional merit of the restorer of the expedition Eudald Gualamet and also wished further successes in the performance of works on conservation and restoration of the cave.
The restorer from Andorra, Eudalad Guilamet, has been working since 2015 to clean the Shulgan-Tash Cave from modern graffiti and training local specialists in restoration of cave facilities. After completion of the project, the team prepared by him plans to continue cleaning works at the cultural heritage site "Idrisovskaya Cave".
