Burzyan District will be one of World Folklore Festival-2020 venues

UFA, 22 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. The Burzyan District will become one of the sites of the World Folklore Festival, which will be held in Bashkortostan in 2020. The head of the republic Rustem Khamitov said this in an interview with the Zdravnicy Russian magazine.
"In 2020, Bashkortostan will host the World Folklore Festival. This is the largest international festival of traditional culture, which is held under the auspices of UNESCO, " said Rustem Khamitov. "More than three thousand artists from 60 countries of the world will come here to present their traditional music, dances, folk crafts, cuisine, costumes and stage art. Of course, the Burzyan District and the Shulgan-Tash reserve will be one of the venues of the folklore festival".
The head of the republic noted that the formation of the "Burzyan" tourist cluster had begun in the territory of the district. The "Shulgan-Tash" museum-reserve ("Kapova Cave") will be a core of it.
"Considering the worldwide popularity of this facility, we expect to increase significantly the international tourist flow, including by creating the necessary infrastructure, building hotels, creating a variety of hiking routes.
According to the Head of Bashkortostan, Burzyan District will also be interesting for tourists from the point of view of folk crafts.
"Do not forget that the Burzyan District is famous not only for its pristine nature and Kapova Cave, but also for the fact that it is a birthplace of the famous Bashkir honey", said Rustem Khamitov. "Until now, an ancient trade – wild-hive beekeeping remains there. Thus in ancient times Bashkirs extracted honey of wild bees. I am sure that it will be interesting for tourists to touch the history and customs of our people, including through such trades. "
