Head of Bashkortostan dreams of new puppet theater building construction

UFA, 13 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The authorities of Bashkortostan will continue to support the republican theaters. This was stated by the head of the republic Rustem Khamitov at the meeting with the theatrical art figures of Russia, participants and guests of the 6th International Festival of Turkic-speaking theaters "Tuganlyk".

"We will continue to accomplish our Bashkir and Russian Drama Theaters. The approximate figure is about 1.2 billion rubles. We dream of constructing a new puppet theater building. This is also approximately 1.2 billion rubles. In general, today, seven of our 12 republican theaters require immediate repair. Strictly speaking, in this part we have something to work on. There is still a lot work to be done", the head of the region said.

According to Rustem Khamitov, in 2017 the region directed 1.5 billion rubles to 12 theaters.

"Someone will say that this is not enough. But I would like to remind you that two or three years ago this figure was almost twice as little - about 800 million rubles. The pace is quite good, it does not even correspond to the growth rate of the number of spectators. It is much higher," explained Rustem Khamitov. "Of course, we understand that these funds are not enough. It is clear that more means are required for repair, upgrade and purchase of equipment. According to the most conservative estimate, the modern arrangement of our theaters will cost about 4.5-5 billion rubles".
