Rustem Khamitov signed decree on holding 6th World Folklore Festival

UFA, 8 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. The head of the republic Rustem Khamitov signed a decree on holding the 6th World Folklore Festival in Bashkortostan in 2020.
The document was signed in compliance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin "On holding the 6th World Folklore Festival", and also in order to ensure the effective organization of the preparation process for this event.
The decree approved the composition of the republican organizing committee for the preparation and conducting of the festival. The Government of the Republic was instructed to develop and approve an appropriate plan of measures and composition of working groups of the organizing committee before November 1, 2017.
The World Folklore Festival is part of the official events of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF). Traditionally, it involves about three thousand artists from 60-80 countries.
The first Folklore Festival was held in 1996 in Holland, the second - in 2000 in Japan. The third place for conducting the folklore was Hungary. In 2012, the fourth CIOFF World Folklore Festival was held in South Korea. The country hosting the World Folklore-2016 was Mexico.
In October 2015, at the 45th World Congress and General Assembly of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) it was announced that the Folklore 2020 will be held in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
