National Museum holds Doors Open Day in Ufa

UFA, 30 August 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. On September 1, a Doors Open Day is held at the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan and its branches in honor of the Knowledge Day. On this day, all schoolchildren and students can visit the museum's exhibitions and exposition halls for free.

Archeology (bronze and stone era), history (15-21 centuries), ethnography of the Bashkir and other peoples of the republic (Udmurts, Mordvins, Mari, Ukrainians, Chuvashes and others) expositions are displayed in 35 exhibition halls of the National Museum. The halls dedicated to the nature of Bashkiria imitate various biological environments: "Amphibians, reptiles and fish", "Caves of Bashkortostan", "Stone Age", and a small exposition is devoted to the Burzyan bee- a symbol of the region.

The museum's collection amounts to 140,000 units of the main fund, 51,000 units of the scientific and auxiliary fund.

One of the museum's assets is a numismatic collection that has been seriously expanded and supplemented since the foundation of the museum. Now it has more than 16 thousand items.
