Bashkortostan and Ufa will be presented in Indonesia as capital of World Folklore Festival 2020

UFA, 3 August 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. This autumn Bashkortostan and Ufa will be presented in Indonesia as the capital of World Folklore Festival 2020. This was stated by the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov during a meeting with the official delegation of the West Java Province of Indonesia held yesterday in the House of the Government RB.

"In 2020, three years later, the 6th World Folklore Festival will be held in our republic. This is a cultural Olympiad, which will be attended by more than 70 countries", Rustem Khamitov said. "Mr. Governor, I take this opportunity to invite the creative teams of Western Java to participate in this largest forum of ethnic culture. In October this year, our delegation will visit Indonesia to participate in the World Congress of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folklore Arts. And we will present Bashkortostan and Ufa as the capital of the Folklore Festival 2020".

In turn, the Governor of the Indonesian Western Java Province Ahmad Heryawan noted that he welcomed the idea of holding the World Folklore Festival in Bashkortostan.

He expressed satisfaction of the planned visit by Bashkortostan delegation to Indonesia in October, and also expressed his hope that the visit would take place not only in the capital of the state of Jakarta, but meetings would also be held in the capital of West Java, Bandung.
