Bashkiria National Symphony Orchestra will dedicate season opening to 135th anniversary of Igor Stravinsky’s birth

The National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan dedicates the opening of the new 26th concert season to the 135th anniversary of the birth of Igor Stravinsky composer (1882-1971). He was called - "a legislator of musical fashion", "a man of a thousand and one style" during his lifetime for an extraordinary variety of creativity.

The press service of the Ministry of Culture RB reported that on August 29, a Suite from the Pulcinella ballet by Stravinsky in the version of 1949 will be performed at the State Concert Hall "Bashkortostan". It is known that the composer created the music of the Pulcinella ballet at the suggestion of the talented entrepreneur Sergei Diaghilev, who opened the "Russian Seasons" in Paris. The plot for the ballet was worked out collectively - by Sergei Diaghilev, Igor Stravinsky and choreographer Leonid Myasin, who himself danced Pulcinella.

Also the playbill of the opening concert includes the Violin Concerto in A minor by Alexander Glazunov. The program will be complemented with fragments from the Raymonda ballet by Glazunov.

Raushan Yakupov, the art director and chief conductor of the orchestra will be at the podium. The beginning will be at 19 o'clock.
