UFA, 6 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. The Bashkirs and Tatars of Switzerland and Europe gathered in Geneva for the Sabantuy national holiday. The guests were offered a rich concert program. Bashkortostan was represented by the singer Gulnur Karabulatova. She performed the Bashkir folk song "Ural", the famous song by Salavat Nizametdinov "Kuz nurym" and the song of her own composition "Donya".
The Sabantuy in the park of the "Silk Road" restaurant was held according to all national traditions. Guests tasted the national delicacies - chak-chak, kystyby and Bashkir honey. Sports competitions for adults and children were held, among which the most unusual and bright was kuresh wrestling. The employee of the UN agency Aisylu Yanturina-Darles was the Sabantuy organizer. Her father, a well-known teacher, professor of the Sibay Institute of Bashkir State University Safargali Yanturin played kurai.
Sabantuy is celebrated in Switzerland for several years with Tatars and Bashkirs coming from France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain and various cities of Switzerland, as well as from Russia - Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. The republic of Tatarstan this year was represented by the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Miras" and Sirina Zainetdinova. The holiday gathers people from Russia and the CIS who live in Switzerland and local people.
The Sabantuy national holiday is organized on the initiative and funds of the non-profit association of Tatars and Bashkirs of Switzerland "Yuldash", founded in 2015, with the assistance of the trade and economic representative office of Tatarstan. The holiday is supported by partners - associations of Russian-speaking diasporas living in Switzerland and the "Silk Road" restaurant.
