Yuri Shevchuk may be awarded "Honour and Conscience of Russian Rock" title

UFA, 17 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. The leader of the DDT band Yuri Shevchuk may be awarded the "Honour and Conscience of Russian Rock" title. The initiative was put forward by the State Duma deputies Ivan Sukharev and Sergey Ivanov in an interview with journalists of the RT television channel.

"Yuri Shevchuk is one of the few musicians who never changed their life and political stance. In defending the truth, the musician was not afraid to become political outcast for someone. His songs are a true cultural heritage," said Ivan Sukharev.

Yesterday the Russian rock musician, songwriter, poet, actor, artist, producer, founder, leader and permanent member of the DDT band, the People's Artist of Bashkortostan celebrated his 60th birthday. He has no intentions to retire.
