Opening of 9th Republican Festival "Theatrical Spring" took place in Ufa

UFA, 21 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. On April 20, the opening of the 9th Republican Festival "Theatrical Spring" was held at the M. Gafuri Bashkir State Academic Drama Theatre. The festival is funded by the grant of the Head of Bashkortostan.

The purpose of the festival is to preserve and develop the theatre art of the republic, to identify the main trends in creative theatrical processes, to strengthen contacts between representatives of all major theatrical professions - actors, artists, directors, critics.

Within six days, 15 performances based on national drama works will be shown at different stages of Ufa. All professional theatrical collectives of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as the A. Bakhrushin State Central Theatre Museum (Moscow) take part in the festival program. Also within the framework of the festival there will be master classes and lectures by leading theatrical figures of Russia.

The Theatre Spring 2017 started with a bright theatrical performance and a parade of participants on the square in front of the M. Gafuri Bashkir Academic Drama Theatre. Besides the Salavat State Bashkir Drama Theatre presented the "Countrymen" play based on the story by Mustai Karim "Village Lawyers".

The opening of the festival was visited by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.
