International Music Festival in honour of 25th anniversary of National Symphony Orchestra opened in Ufa

UFA, 13 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. On April 12, the opening of the International Music Festival dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the National Symphony Orchestra of Bashkortostan Republic took place at the Bashkortostan State Concert Hall.

The symphonic program of the first festival concert consisted of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Sergei Rachmaninov compositions. The Honoured Artist of Russia, Steinway Artist, Boris Berezovsky performed as a soloist in Concerto No. 3 for Piano and Orchestra by Sergei Rachmaninov.

The opening of the festival was visited by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

The National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan was established in 1992. A great contribution to its creation was made by Tagir Kamalov, the first art director and chief conductor. In January 2015, the orchestra moved to the Bashkortostan State Concert Hall.

The orchestra employs 115 people - 89 musicians, three conductors, who are graduates of the Ufa State Institute of Arts, St. Petersburg N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatoire, Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Since January 2015 the main conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra RB is Raushan Yakupov.
