Bashkir "Zaman" ethno ensemble reached finals of International Competition in Norway

UFA, 3 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. The Moscow "Zaman" ethno-project was among the eight finalists of the international music contest "Liet International" ahead of competitors from more than 30 countries in Europe. The contest will be held in the Norwegian city of Kautokeino in mid-April.
The musical team impressed the jury of the selection stage with the song in the Bashkir language in the ethno-dance style.
"This is a big responsibility for us, as our task is to represent Bashkortostan at a high professional level, to acquaint the Norwegian audience with the Bashkir language, to attract interest to our republic through modern music and a fascinating show. Foreign competitions are always an interesting experience and bright impressions, an opportunity to make contacts for further cooperation, to adopt experience of such contests organization. We hope to return with a victory and to get acquainted with a huge number of interesting people!", shared the soloist of the "Zaman" team Elena Muftahina.
Under the terms of the contest, compositions performed by participants should sound in a native language. The "Liet International" contest is becoming one of the biggest events in Europe on strengthening and preserving regional languages. The founder of the contest is the European Frisian ethnos living in the territory of modern Germany and the Netherlands.
The final of the "Liet International" will be held on April 13. Musicians from Germany, France, Norway, the Netherlands and Russia will take part in the final stage.
