"The Story of the Lost Sheep" film will be shown in Cannes

UFA, 23 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. "The Story of the Lost Sheep" short feature film will be presented in the non-competition program of the Short Film Corner Festival de Cannes. The director Salavat Vakhitov informed about it during a closed press-show at Bashinform News Agency on March 22.

According to the author, "The Story of the Lost Sheep" was filmed as a film-pilot for the big film project "Resurrection".

"We hope that the future of our new project will be decided in Cannes", Salavat Vakhitov said.

"The Story of the Lost Sheep" film is based on a biblical story about a lost sheep depicted through a simple village story that happened to the author of the film in his childhood, when he helped his grandfather to tend sheep.

The picture was filmed in the Gafuri region of our republic. Administrative support for the shooting was provided by the leadership of Bashkortostan, the Ministry of Culture RB, the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports RB, the administration of the Gafuri region. It is noteworthy that the film crew worked for free, and the shooting was crowdfunded. Financial and technical support to the film was provided by individual citizens, entrepreneurs, enterprises and organizations.
