Three performances by Bashkir theatres will be shown at "Golden Mask" in Moscow

UFA, 2 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. From February 15 to April 18, Moscow hosts the 23rd Festival of the best Russian performances for all types of theatrical art "Golden Mask". Two theatres of Bashkortostan with the best performances of the last season will take part in it. The festival program includes the "Jute" performance staged by the M. Gafuri Bashkir Drama Theatre. It will be held on the stage of Vsevolod Meyerhold Theatre and Cultural Centre. And on April 13 and 15, Bashkir State Opera and Ballet artists will give two performances at the theatre "Novaya Opera" and "Helikon-Opera".

The "Jute" (Olzhas Zhanaidarov) tells the story of Kazakhs, suffering from hunger, loss of cattle and the Soviet collectivization of the 1930-s, their search for a better life. At the same time it shows a different plan - modern Moscow. The play is staged in European traditions with mixed scenes and realities. The play will be shown in the non-competition program of the festival - "Mask Plus".

The play "Hercules" by the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet, which will be shown on April 13 at the "Novaya Opera" claims the victory in the nominations "Best Opera Performance", "Best Conductor" and "Best Actress".

On April 15, on the stage of the Moscow "Helikon Opera" our theatre will give a performance of "The Maid of Orleans" nominated for the "Golden Mask" as "Best Opera Performance", and "Best Actress". Staged by director Philip Razenkov.
