Askar Abdrazakov dedicated his first solo concert in St. Petersburg to Chaliapin

UFA, 10 February 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. Askar Abdrazakov held his first solo concert yesterday in St. Petersburg. The vocal music event was held in the Great Hall of the Shostakovich Philharmonic Society. The renowned opera bass sang with the Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg under the baton of the art director Sergei Stadler and the conductor Pierre Vallée.
Askar Abrazakov pleased his fans with a unique program. The first part the singer devoted to a favourite image of his fellow countryman Feodor Chaliapin - the image of Don Quixote in interpretation of the three composers of the last century, who wrote their works especially for the great Chaliapin bass. He performed works by Jules Massenet, Ravel and Jacques Ibert. In the second part arias from musicals were performed.
Shortly before the concert, in his interview with "Izvestiya" newspaper, the singer commented on the choice of the program, told about his attitude to the great Russian bass.
"I was born in Ufa, where Feodor started his singing career and where this fact is very appreciated. Last year, by the way, Ufa for the first time hosted a competition of vocalists named after Chaliapin, and I was asked to head the jury. Chaliapin is a native of Kazan, where the oldest Russian opera festival named after him is held. In Kazan, at Chaliapin competition I once has won the first prize... ".
The concert was attended by the artist mother Taskira Abdrazakova.
