Ildar Abdrazakov is recognized as winner of «Casta Diva» Opera Prize

UFA, 26 December 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. The famous opera bass, our countryman Ildar Abdrazakov is recognized as one of the winners of «Casta Diva» Russian opera prize. It is reported by «Classical Music News» portal. The jury in the category "Singer of the Year" noted three of his works: Mephistopheles in "Faust" by Gounod at the Salzburg Festival, Philip II in "Don Carlos" by G. Verdi (debut at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia), Lindorf, Coppelius, Dapertutto, Miracle in "Tales of Hoffmann" by J. Offenbach at the Musical theatre of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko.

Also, the winners of the «Casta Diva» award were known opera singers Natalia Muradymova, Dmitry Ulyanov, Tatiana Sergent. Landmark performances - "Rodelinda" by Handel at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and "La Traviata" by Verdi in the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre were also marked. Dmitri Hvorostovsky was named the Opera Chevalier.

The «Casta Diva» Award exists for already 10 years. The name of the award is taken from the famous Norma aria by Bellini. The winners were chosen by the jury, which included main Russian critics, headed by the initiator of the award Michael Muginshtein. A bronze statue of the virgin goddess will be handed over on October 6, 2017 the stage of the Musical Theatre of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko.
