Riga City Council discussed cooperation plans with Bashkiria

UFA, 21 November 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. In these days the Republic of Latvia celebrated the 98th birthday. On the eve of the national holiday many events were held, which were attended by representatives of the Bashkir diaspora. The Association of Bashkirs "Akbuzat" and Latvian Tatar-Bashkir Cultural Association "Chishma" became participants of two events: Day of Tolerance by UNESCO Latvian Committee and a solo concert of the Bashkir "Zaman" ethnic band from Moscow.
The Riga City Council Chairman of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports Ejzhenija Aldermane and the Chairman of the Baltic International Centre "Salavat Yulaev" Rina Khamitova discussed the topic of further cooperation of Riga with Bashkirs in Latvia and Bashkortostan organizations. Ms. Aldermane conveyed best wishes to the partners - the Committee for UNESCO Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the leaders of the organization "OPORA Russia" and the Chamber of Commerce RB, which in recent years have visited Latvia, held meetings and negotiations in the Riga Duma. It was expressed gratitude to the Bashkir associations in Latvia for the active work, organization of national holidays, participation in festivals, concerts and other activities at the city and state level.
The issue of young people and youth organizations cooperation in Latvia was discussed at the EU Youth Conference representatives at the Riga City Hall. Rina Khamitova spoke about the problems of young people - representatives of Bashkirs and Tatars in the Baltic countries, possible joint projects, both in Europe and in Russia.
Bashkirs of Latvia for the second year in a row organize the arrival of fellow countrymen from Moscow and joint concerts on the eve of the November public holidays, such as famous Bashkir musician Robert Yuldashev and folklore group from Moscow "Ak Tirme" in November 2015.
