«BBC Films» crew arrives in Ufa to prepare for film shooting about Rudolf Nureyev

UFA, 29 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. The British Film Company «BBC Films» is preparing to shoot a documentary film about the brilliant dancer of the twentieth century Rudolf Nureyev. The casting manager of the scale film project is going to arrive in Ufa where Nureyev took his first steps on the stage.

"We have received an official fax that the director-producer of this film will be the famous British actor and director Ralph Fiennes. We are waiting for him in Ufa on April 4-5", said the General Director of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre Ilmar Almukhametov.

The shootings will begin in December 2016, it is planned to film the fragments associated with Ufa in 2017.

Ralph Fiennes is the British actor and director, nominee for "Oscar". He is the best known for his roles in "The English Patient," "Schindler's List" and "Harry Potter". The project about Rudolf Nureyev, not yet received the exact name, is based on the book by the journalist and former ballerina Julie Kavanagh "Rudolf Nureyev: The Life", published in 2007. The script will be written by the British playwright, two Oscars nominations holder - David Hare. The film dedicated to the star of the ballet scene will be the third director’s work of Ralph Fiennes.
