Ufa for the first time will host the Vladimir Spivakov’s International Violin Contest

UFA, 12 January 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. From May 10 to 17, 2016, the First Vladimir Spivakov’s International Violin Contest will take place in Ufa. Young musicians aged 15 to 26 years, regardless of their place of residence, are invited to participate in the contest.

The contest will consist of a qualifying round and three rounds of auditions. Each contestant should prepare a free program that includes a polyphonic, virtuoso composition and a composition of the Classical period. Performances will be judged by an international jury headed by Mikhail Kopelman. Applications submission for the competition will be open until March 20 on the official website of the contest.

Awards for the first three prizes will be violins by Italian and French masters, as well as cash prizes. So, the winner will get a magnificent violin of 1890 by the Italian master Carlo Giuseppe Oddone. In addition, several musicians will be awarded special prizes by the art director of the contest, People's Artist of USSR Vladimir Spivakov – a trip and participation in the International Music Festival in Colmar (France) in 2016 and 2017 and the International Music Festival "Vladimir Spivakov Invites" in Moscow and Perm in 2016.

The founder of the contest is the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
