Photo exhibition dedicated to the disappearing outlook of the old city opens in Ufa

UFA, 22 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. On December 22, a photo exhibition opens at the National Museum of Bashkortostan. The author's project titled "The Old Ufa through the Eyes of Architect and Photographer Farid Gilmiyarov" was awarded a grant of the Head of the Republic. Photo works by the famous master are dedicated to the disappearing old architecture of the city of Ufa - a large series of architectural photo sketches.
The photos show the wooden and stone architecture of the city of the 19th-20th centuries. The photographer features familiar buildings, courtyards and streets of the old part of the city of Ufa. Many of them are demolished now during modern construction rapidly changing the face of the city. Some buildings remain as elements of the past, reminders of bygone times.
The project is of great socio-cultural value aiming to preserve the historical memory associated with the urban culture of the Russian province of the 20th century. According to the organizers of the exhibition, it is a unique photo-document focused on protection and preservation of monuments and cultural values.
Farid Gilmiyarov is a member of the Union of Architects and the Union of Photographers, many-sided personality, a participant of a variety, including international exhibition projects.
