Bashkir ethnic project "Zaman" is one of the best national teams at "Suns Europe" Contest

UFA, 18 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. Bashkir ethnic project "Zaman" was the second best national team in the world finals of the International Song Contest "Suns Europe - 2015". The competition was held in the city of Udine in Italy. The ethno-rock band, which has a permanent residence in Moscow, represented Russia with a song in the Bashkir language "Ai Nury".

At the Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine European spectators gave the band members long applause.

The online voting was organized on the Internet for one day, by which results the song "Ai Nury" ranked third among other compositions-finalists.

According to the contest terms the prize should be given to the winner of first place in the jury's decision. However, members of the jury and the organizing committee of the international contest decided to mark the team from Bashkortostan and offer it a contract under which the ethno project "Zaman" will take part in another major festival in Europe.

Following the international competition the first place took the Romanian band «Me + Marie», second place went to the Bashkir "Zaman", and Italians «Marit & Nigel» won bronze medals. In parallel with the contest RIA Italian Channel filmed a documentary about the folk culture, in which Zaman took part having told about the culture of the Bashkir people.
