Young pianist from Ufa won contest in Czech Republic

UFA, 1 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Kamil Khasanov/. Elena Kolesnikova, the eighth-grader of the Special Music College of Ufa has won the title of laureate of the first degree at the 48th International Competition "Virtuosos of Piano Music" in the Czech Republic. Besides the first prize, the jury awarded her the special prize "Best Performance of Franz Liszt's Concert Etude".

Elena is 13 years old; the victory in the international competition is not the first award of the young pianist. She has already won at festivals of different levels, and in addition, was awarded fellowships of the Head of Bashkiria and Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation. The schoolgirl attends classes by Liliya Valyamova.

The International Competition "Virtuosos of Piano Music" is held in the Czech town of Usti nad Labem each year since 1968. For all the time it was attended by thousands of young performers (age limit - 16 years), many of which later became well-known musicians. This year the Ufa native competed with representatives of 19 countries of the world.
