Modern graffiti is removed from Shulgan-Tash Cave walls in Bashkortostan

UFA, 26 November 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. Modern graffiti is completely removed from the walls of cultural heritage site - the Shulgan-Tash Cave in Burzyan region. It is cleared the wall at the entrance portal of the second floor. The cleaning operations are held within the framework of the international expedition, which began here on November 22.
The expedition involves the European restorer in the area of rock art in caves and wall paintings Giyame Anton Edal, candidate of geological-mineralogical sciences from the University of Innsbruck, Austria Yuri Dublyansky and leading researcher of the All-Russian Geological Research Institute named after A.P. Karpinsky (St. Petersburg), researcher of rock art of the Shulgan-Tash Cave Yuri Lyakhnitsky. The international experts are assisted by a local group of researchers and specialists.
As Mr. Giyame Anton marked, there is still a large amount of work associated with modern graffiti removal. Only natural components are used to clear the wall surfaces: the water from the cave and sand. The main working tool - cotton swabs and brushes.
