«Shnit» Short Film Festival will be held in Ufa

UFA, 1 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. From October 7 to 14, the Ufa Iskra Cinema will host the «Shnit» Festival. This unique mobile short film festival has a 12-year old history. It takes place simultaneously on five continents, bringing together major cities and an audience of 30 million viewers. In Ufa, the festival will be held with the support of the «Relax FM» radio station and the website Ufa1.

For the second year in parallel with the competition program the festival organizes screenings «Shnit CINEMAS» further expanding the geography for the audience, which is interested in the latest trends in the world of short films. This year's the list of «Shnit CINEMAS» includes eight films. Among them there are vivid animation and fiction works including the winner of "Oscar" ("One Life"), a curious experiment ("Beauty"), romantic comedy ("Love is Blind"), a social drama ("Against the Hair") and even a story about vampires.

For the first time the festival was held as a national review of short films, but almost immediately turned into a global event. For participation in the «Shnit» more than seven thousand applications from 136 countries were received last year. Only 64 films were selected for the official competition. One of the main principles of «Shnit» is high-quality programs and their variety of genres.
