Yandex has introduced a new version of "Afisha"

UFA, 17 June 2015. /Bashinform News Agency/. Yandex search engine has introduced a new version of its "Yandex.Afisha" (billboard) with a recommendation function. This was stated by the head of service Yulia Nechaeva at a press conference in Moscow, "Lenta.ru" informs. The new website will be available since June 17 at afisha.yandex.ru.

The new "Yandex.Afisha" will collect on its platform various cultural and entertainment events, from performances, exhibitions and installations to quests, excursions and events in local parks.

The peculiarity of the service is in its recommendation system. All events are rated by Yandex machine algorithms. The rating of events is based on popularity (for example, the number of searches), quotes in the media, opportunity to buy a ticket (if the event is still relevant, but tickets are already sold out), and personal preferences.

Events can be sorted by category or relevance. In addition, the service will be able to make automated collections on the topic: for example, outdoor activities to be held next weekend, or where to go skating.

The company soon plans to launch an updated "Afisha" as a mobile application.
