Bashkiria will host International Festival of Ethnic Cultures on the eve of SCO and BRICS Summits

UFA, 8 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. From June 3 to 9, Bashkortostan will host an International Festival of Ethnic Cultures "Berdemlek - Commonwealth".

This year the festival is included in the action plan of the SCO Summit and the meeting of Heads of States and Governments of the BRICS. The event is one of six international festivals in Russia, which is included in the calendar of major events CIOFF 2015. In recent years, it is a part of the federal target program "Culture of Russia".

200 people will present their creativity at the festival - Folk Art Club "International Rhythms" from India, the dance group Cadica Dance Company from Brazil, the dance troupe «Lanzhou Stars Dance Group» from China, representatives of the Republic of South Africa, as well as Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. The concert program will be added with a bright-coloured fair and exhibition of arts and crafts.

On the first day of the festival, June 4, the city of Belebey will host the grand opening. On June 5, the festival will move to the city of Oktyabrsky, where republican Kurai Festival will be held. On June 6 and 7, a folk holiday Sabantuy is planned in Davlekanovo and Tuimazy regions. The festival will be closed in Ufa with a gala concert on June 8.

For more than 20-year history the festival has become a hallmark of the Republic of Bashkortostan. For all the years it was attended by representatives of more than 50 countries, about 300 delegations.
