"Rodina" Cinema will host an exhibition devoted to the work of front-line cameramen

UFA, 6 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. "Cry, but Shoot!" – that is the name of the photo exhibition dedicated to the memory of frontline cameramen. The opening of the project will be held in the foyer of the "Rodina" Cinema - the Centre of Russian Cinematography on May 7 at 17.00.

At the exhibition well-known operators of the republic, other filmmakers and all comers are invited. Mikhail Novikov, the well-known cameraman and photographer, who was awarded the Order "Badge of Honour" for his contribution to cinema, follower of front-line operators Vsevolod Vladimirov and Boris Zeitlin will share his memories. Mikhail Novikov continues the tradition of the operators of the war years: he was a member of events at Damanski-Zhenbao Island in 1969. He made shooting at conflict zones during the Chechen events, for which he was awarded medals. Together with the other Ufa operator Bulat Gainetdinov they made a film about the war in Chechnya "100 Days of War and Peace", which was awarded prizes of Russian and international television and film festivals.

“The exhibition "Cry, but Shoot!" - is another amazing testimony of courage of the Soviet people, professionals in their field, when sometimes fatally wounded cameramen tried to save archival footage”, the press secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of Bashkortostan Zuhra Burakaeva said.

The organizer of the exhibition is the Union of Cinematographers RB, the materials are provided by the Union of Cinematographers of Russia. The exhibition will run until the end of May.
