German musician Mark Elert will hold a master class for students of Bashkir universities
UFA, 6 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. On May 7, the National Library named after Ahmed Zaki Validi will host a meeting with the German musician, translator, author and performer of his own songs Mark Elert.
The meeting will be held in the format of master class on literary translation, where students of Bashkir State University and Bashkir State Pedagogical University and novice translators will show their skills in translating the lyrics of the songs under the direction of the musician. The event will be closed with a concert during which the musician will perform his own songs. The meeting will be held within the Year of German Language and Literature 2014/2015 with the support of the German Goethe Cultural Centre in Moscow, said the head of the press service of the National Library Aigul Yaparova.
Elert is an employee of Research Institute of the city of Potsdam. He studied at the University of Altay (Barnaul), where he perfected his knowledge of Russian language. Mark Elert translated the Russian songs of different genres. He performs the songs in the Russian language the "Cranes", "Beautiful Far", songs by Vladimir Vysotsky, Bulat Okudzhava and other famous authors.
The meeting will start at 13.00 at the address: 10, October Revolution Street, Ufa (2nd building of the National Library RB).
