Year of Literature was solemnly opened in Bashkortostan

UFA, 30 January 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. An official opening of the Year of Literature took place in the Small Hall of "Bashkortostan". The event brought together writers, representatives of public organizations, heads of cultural departments of districts and cities.

The foyer of the concert hall was decorated with an exhibition from the collections of the National Museum of Literature "Bashkortostan Starts from You" – a gallery of portraits of famous writers and poets, souvenirs.

“We need to attract younger generation to reading. Today, there are many new formats - audiobooks, online books, and we should keep pace with them. Our work is to bring the best examples of Russian, Bashkir, foreign literature to the reader. Another main objective is to preserve languages. We must promote Russian - the state language of the Russian Federation, preserve and develop the Bashkir language,” Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan Salavat Sagitov said opening the ceremony.

In 2015 there is the 100th anniversary of the first record of the Bashkir epic "Ural Batyr". The republican contest of young storytellers of epic will continue. In the 15th time the Interregional Festival of Poetry "Springs of Inspiration" will be held. “Akmullinskie Days” will get a new status - they will be converted to the International Eurasian Humanistic Forum.

The republican marathon "Literary Mosaic" started dedicated to the Year of Literature. The first symbol of the marathon - a big book, which will chronicle the Year of Literature, was handed over by the Minister of Culture Amina Shafikova to the head of Karmaskaly regional administration Fanzil Chingizov. Throughout the year, the book will be passed over all regions and cities in Bashkortostan.
