Bashkir Special Library for the Blind was presented a book series of fairy tales

UFA, 27 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. Bashkir Republican Special Library for the Blind in the framework of the project "Fabulous mosaic of the peoples of Russia on a palm: multi-format editions for blind children" was donated a set of children's books "Fairy Tales of the Peoples of Russia".
A unique series of stories is published by Khabarovsk regional specialized library for the blind at the expense of the grant of the President of the Russian Federation. The book editions are designed for children with profound visual impairment at the age of 5-10 years and are presented in four different versions: with enlarged font, with point system, with sound support and in handmade-tactile format. The last version of the books contain fragments of different materials (wood, plastic, wool, fabric) that the blind children can expand their understanding of the world through tactile sensations. The series consists of five fairy tales: the Ingush, Kalmyk, Mansi, Nivkh and Tuvan.
The circulation of the series is 175 copies in each format, except for the handmade- tactile format. Books in this format are made in one copy. Per one set of books is sent to every specialized library for the blind. The books are sent to the municipal libraries of the Khabarovsk Territory, as well as to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur. It is planned to complete the unique project for Russia in November 2014.
