Mikhail Nesterov’s prize will be awarded in Ufa

UFA, 18 September 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. Today, September 18, the Third Interregional Exhibition-Competition "Krasnye Vorota. Protiv Techeniya" opens in Saratov. The exhibition has a touring format and for five months it will visit different cities of Russia: Saratov, Togliatti, Ufa, Kazan, Cheboksary, closing in Moscow in January 2015.
More than 6,000 works (painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, art-photo) were sent for consideration of the Advisory Board and the jury. As a result of competitive selection works of artists - representatives of 12 regions of the Volga Federal District, Moscow and St. Petersburg, altogether 286 people were selected for the album catalog. Among them there are 16 representatives of Bashkortostan, including Sergey Krasnov, Vladislav Pegov, Airat Teregulov, Alena Savelieva, Igor Tonkonogy, Rinat Ismagilov (Voligamsi).
“Within the framework of the project, each region established its own award. For example, Saratov will award the Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin’s Prize, Togliatti - Ilya Repin’s Prize, Kazan - Nikolai Feshin’s Prize. In our republic a prize named after Mikhail Nesterov will be awarded. When the exhibition and competition will arrive in Ufa, names of the winners will be announced. Now I can only say that after a meeting of the Commission of the Russian Academy of Arts, three people from Bashkortostan were awarded Petrov-Vodkin, Repin and Mikhail Nesterov’s prizes,” the president of the Creative Union of Artists of Bashkortostan Vladislav Pegov said.
In Ufa the project "Krasnye Vorota. Protiv Techeniya" will run from October 17 to 26 in the exhibition hall of the Academy of Sciences RB.
The opening is at 17.00.
