Russian Drama Theatre is preparing a new interpretation of the famous novel "Fathers and Sons" in Ufa

In Ufa the Russian Drama Theatre holds final rehearsals of "Fathers and Sons" based on the novel by the classic of the Russian literature Ivan Turgenev. The premiere will take place on September 26 and 27, and will coincide with the opening of the 153rd season.

“This is not a classical staging, but a modern view of the director at the famous work. The play uses a modern theatrical language, many allusions to the philosophy of postmodernism and associations, for example, with Malevich. The action is moved to the realities of our time”, the literary director of the theatre Elena Popova explained.

The new interpretation of the eternal story is prepared by the team of directors from St. Petersburg: director - Peter Shereshevsky, art director Anwar Gumarov, costume designer - Elena Gromova, videos artist - Alexander Malyshev.

Young actors and key actors of the troupe will play the leads: Ruslan Belsky (Yevgeny Bazarov), Artem Agliulin (Arkady Kirsanov), Vladimir Latypov-Dogadov (Nikolai), Alexander Federyaev (Pavel Petrovich), Vladimir Abrosimov (Vassily Ivanovich).

Large number of tickets for the premiere has already been sold, the theatre informs.
