Bashkir State Philharmonic Society invites to "Christmas Meetings"

The H.Ahmetov’s Bashkir State Philharmonic Society invites Ufa residents and guests to the traditional festival "Christmas Meetings" to be held from December 22 to January 15.
On December 22 at the Organ Hall a concert of the honoured actress of Bashkortostan Republic Elvira Khairutdinova will be held. The program "Music of Christmas" will feature compositions by Western European composers Bach, Vivaldi, Frescobaldi, Gigout, Widor, Lefébure-Wely. The beginning is at 15 o'clock, Ufa time.
On the same day, but at 19 o'clock, the Great Hall of the Philharmonic Society will host a unique jazz concert. Jazz vocalist from America - Myrna Clayton will give her first performance at the Philharmonic Society. Her repertoire includes works by such legendary performers as Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Billie Holiday, Dianne Reeves and Norah Jones.
Connoisseurs of choral music will appreciate a concert by the State Academic Choir RB led by Alsu Hasbiullina. On December 26 at 7 pm a premiere performance of Dvorak's monumental cantata «Stabat Mater» will be held at the Organ Hall. Soloists: Elvira Alkina (soprano) , Catherine Leishe ( mezzo-soprano), Vahit Hyzyrov (tenor), Salavat Askarov (bass).
On January 13, the choir of Cyril and Methodius Church in Ufa (art director and choirmaster Tatiana Goncharenko) will present spiritual compositions of Russian composers. The program will include works by Degtyarev, Chesnokov, Gretchaninov, Ivanov, Tkachenko, Trubachev, Zinoviev, Balakirev.
A concert of People's Artist RB Vladislav Murtazin will be a bright completion of the Christmas festival to be conducted in the foyer of the Great Hall on January15. Maestro will perform works by Western European composers on the "Hauptwerk" organ, which reproduces sounds of famous European cathedrals. The beginning is at 7 pm, the press service of the Philharmonic Society informs.
