Leading German translators spend master classes in Ufa
Today, on November 11, Translation School-2013 (Translationsschule Ufa) is opened at Bashkir State University as part of which the largest scientists in this area will make reports. The students, beginning translators and teachers will have a unique possibility to attend lectures and master classes of the known professor, the founder of functional translation Christina Nord (Germany), director of St. Petersburg School of Conference Interpreting and Translation, Professor Irina Alekseeva, and also doctor Verena Bart from Germany. A round-table conference on translation issues is planned for participants of seminars. They will be able to practise interpreting and learn new methods and tendencies in this area.
The «Translation School» is held at support of the Goethe’s German Cultural Centre within the scientific conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Romano-Germanic Philology Department of Bashkir State University.
According to the organizing committee of the conference, lectures by Christina Nord (in the morning), and Irina Alexeeva (in the afternoon) are scheduled for November 12 and master classes for November 13.
