Public garden near the memorial to October Revolution and Civil War heroes was opened in Ufa
A public garden near the memorial to heroes of October Revolution and Civil War, between 50 let Oktyabrya Street and 8 Marta Street, is officially opened on September 2.
Works on the public garden reconstruction were begun in summer 2013. Stone blocks replaced the old tile, flower beds were laid out, benches and light-emitting diode fixtures were established. Large-sized trees were planted: lindens and lilac. In the near future a free Wi-Fi zone will be organized there.
“So far the public garden does not have an official name, it is called "Molodezhny" garden in documents,” the head of Soviet district administration Salavat Bakhtiyarov says. “Any Ufa resident can offer a name for the garden; the most successful variants will be placed on the website of Ufa administration for voting.”
The monument to heroes of October Revolution and Civil War was opened in April, 1975 on the place of the former Kazan-Bogorodsky stone chapel destroyed in 20-s of the XX-th century. The total height of the monument is 12 metres, height of figures — 9 metres. The weight of bronze parts of the monument makes 95 tons.
