Book about Aksakov’s Holiday is prepared for publishing in Ufa
In Ufa publishing of the book devoted to the International Aksakov’s Holiday is prepared. As the press-service of the Ufa City Council informs, the edition will include materials on the holiday history, interesting facts from the Aksakov’s family life, Aksakov’s places in Ufa, winners of the Aksakov’s award.
The International Aksakov’s Holiday to which the book is devoted, this year will be spent for the 23rd time in Ufa. Annually honoured guests not only from other regions of the country, but also from abroad arrive to Ufa.
In the year of 1991 declared at the initiative of UNESCO as the Aksakov’s Year in connection with the 200th anniversary from the date of birth of the writer, S.T.Aksakov's Memorial house-museum was opened in Ufa.
In 1992 within the limits of the International Aksakov’s Holiday the Ufa City Council founded Aksakov’s scholarships for students of higher and secondary special educational institutions. In 2006 scholarships gained the status of awards and their size were gradually increased to 10 thousand rbl.
In 1996 the republican leadership founded a literary award by the name of Sergey Aksakov. Among its winners such known writers, as Vasily Belov, Valentin Rasputin, Valery Ganichev.
Since 2007 the holiday has one more tradition - the Student's Aksakov’s Ball.
