«Theatre Spring» will be estimated by Moscow critics in Bashkiria

Eleven professional theatres of Bashkortostan will gather in Ufa at the VIII Republican festival «Theatre Spring». From April 4 till April 10, the city performance companies will show 13 best plays from their repertoire. They will be traditionally estimated not only by spectators, but also by the board of the invited critics from Moscow. This year the editor-in-chief of magazines «Strastnoi Bulwar» and «Inye Berega» Natalia Staroselskaya, the "Culture" newspaper columnist Irina Alpatova will analyze creative works of the Bashkir theatres. The senior lecturer of the Ufa Academy of Arts Galina Verbitskaya and the students of theatrical critics department will work with them. As a rule, actors and authors of stage plays will also take an active part in the discussion having the right to defend their point of view.

As the Ministry of Culture RB informs, within the limits of the festival a Modern Drama Art Creative Laboratory is planned to be organised. Directors from different Bashkir theatres together with actors of Russian Academic Drama Theatre of Ufa will make sketches of performances under the offered plays of the Russian authors.

The festival «Theatre Spring» marks the 20 anniversary this year: for the first time the event was held in Salavat in 1993. It was initiated by the department of arts of the republican Ministry of Culture for development of theatre life of the region.
