Bashkir director Timur Safiullin is awarded the Californian Film Festival Award

The active member of the Union of the Bashkir Youth of the Chelyabinsk Region, the actor and director Timur Safiullin — the graduate of the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts received a diamond prize of the Californian Film Festival for a feature film «Crossway». In San Diego (USA) the annual ceremony of winners awarding took place. Last year the film was shot for two months in different areas of Thailand.

The film says about a person who is compelled to remain in Asia, having arrived there on business. He tries to find his own place in the new environment, to make his dream true. He should make a choice: comfortable life and perspective, but not creative work — or possibility for actual self-realisation.

Earlier Timur Safiullin was given various awards, including the prize of the Cannes Festival of Muslim cinema, for a short clip «Deeper, than Yesterday». Now the director lives in Melbourn (Australia). Now he works over a clip to the song of Bashkir rapper Ranis Akkuzhin.
