The 90th anniversary of the twice Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Gareev to be celebrated in Ufa

Celebrities, devoted to the 90th anniversary from the birthday of the twice Hero of the Soviet Union, legendary pilot Musa Gareev, will take place in Ufa Congress-Hall on Friday, September 21.

Musa Gareev was born on June 9, 1922, in Ilishevski region of Bashkortostan. On December 15, 1940, he was recruited to the Red Army. In 1942 he has finished an aviation school in the town of Engels. After graduation he served in the army since September 25, 1942.

By August 1944 Musa Gareev has made 164 operation flights. In February 23, 1945, he has been rewarded with the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union, with the Lenin Order and with the medal “Golden Star”.

By March 1945 he has made 207 operation flights and again has been rewarded with the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union – on April 19, 1945. He has made about 250 successful operation flights in a whole.

Musa Gareev was a participant of the historical Victory Parade in Moscow on June 24, 1945.

He died on September 17, 1987, and was buried in Ufa Victory Park.
