Ufa becomes the film festival capital

The II Open Festival of People’s Films "Kinozrenie" will take place in Ufa fr om November 23 till November 25, the Public Fund of City Development informs.

Works of participants from Russia and the near abroad countries will be presented in the festival. Besides, winners of the first republican film marathon will take part in the festival «The People’s Films» which opens in the capital on August 10th with the competition «The People’s Director». Any inhabitant of the republic at the age from 15 to 35 years can take part in the competition, the only condition ia an applicant should not work in the film industry sphere. The best will be chosen from 300 participants, and only 50 will receive the grant on training for director skills at the Bulat Yusupov’s film school. Names of winners will be declared on August 27. Following the results of training the directors-newcomers will shoot films, which become their graduate works. The best films of the Bashkir directors will be showed at cinemas of the capital from November 1 till November 11 and within the lim its of festival of People’s Films "Kinozrenie" from November 23 - 25.

At the I Open festival of People’s Films "Kinozrenie" 41 films of participants from Russia, the countries of near and far abroad were displayed in 2010. Inhabitants of Ufa could see works of nonprofessional directors not only from the native city, but also from Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Salekhard, Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Samara, Naberezhnye Chelny, cities of Ukraine and Belarus, and also the state of Miami (USA).

From December 1 till December 15, 2012 the film marathon will go fro a tour across republican cities and villages. It is expected that the Open Festival of People’s Films "Kinozrenie" will be annually spent in Ufa and to become traditional event in the cultural life of the city.
