The First International Festival “The Call of Ural” to be held in Ufa

The first international festival of folk orchestras and bands “The Call of Ural” will be held in Ufa on March 26-30 under the aegis of the cultural Olympiad “Sochi-2014”.

Professional folk bands and orchestras of secondary special and high education institutions from Turkey, France, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Tatarstan, Kalmykia and Tuva will take part in the contest and professional jury will estimate their mastery.

The main goal of the festival is popularization of folk musical instruments and folk music.

For the reference: cultural Olympiad “Sochi-2014” is the unique project, presenting the best cultural events of the country and in 2014 the guests of the Olympic Games may watch not just the results of sports competitions but the whole cultural variety of Russia on ten stages, located in Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana, that’s why since 2010 the organizing committee of “Sochi-2014” together with the majority of Russian regions purposefully selects all the best, what can be found in Russian culture.

All events of the cultural Olympiad will be available on its official internet portal.
