Israeli saxophonist Robert Anchipolovsky will play in Ufa

The concert of one of the most talented jazz musicians in the world, Israeli saxophonist Robert Anchipolovsky will take place at the Bashkir State Philharmonic Society, Ufa, on March 8.
The winner of the award of the prestigious international saxophonist contest by Massimo Urbani in Italy (Camerino), the third-generation jazzman Robert Anchipolovsky had studied as clarinetist but later chosen alt-saxophone, perfecting his skills with famous Phil Woods and playing with such legendary musicians as Randy Breaker, Mailgram Miller, Deborah Brown, Larry Willis, Steve Turret, Daniel Kramer, Igor Butman and others and taking part in many prestigious international festivals.
His first show in Ufa with the program “Autumn in New York” has taken place in 2010. On the International Woman’s Day he will share the stage with the chamber orchestra “UFA CAMERATA” and jazz-trio “Ufa”. The program includes jazz bebop-style compositions from the great Parker’s repertoire – the melodies from old movies of the 30-40s, music of 1938-1956: “Dancing in the Dark” by Schwartz, “Easy to Love” by Porter, “On a Clear Day” by Lerner, “April in Paris” by Duke and many others.
The show will begin at 19 o’clock.
