Representative of the National Library RB has taken the floor at international conference in Baku

Representatives of scientific, educational and cultural institutions of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan have held a gathering at the Azerbaijani National Library by M.F. Akhundov in Baku. Two international conferences, devoted to the 125th anniversary of the Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay and to the 80th anniversary of the founder of Azerbaijani library science, professor Abuzar Khalafov, were recently held there .

Bashkortostan was presented by the deputy director of the National Library RB by Akhmet-Zaki Validi Razil Bikbulatov. He has taken the floor with the report about role and place of Gabdulla Tukay's works at the National Library RB, the press-service of the library reported to the news agency “Bashinform”.

He has mentioned in his speech that the international organization “TURKSOY” announced 2010 the Year of the prominent Bashkir Turk specialist Akhmet-Zaki Validi. He has expressed assurance that 2011, announced the Year of Gabdulla Tukay by “TURKSOY”, will contribute to activation of work on popularization of this poet's cultural heritage in the Eurasian world.

The Minister for culture and tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfas Karaev also participated in the conference.
